Dr. Jasmine Moghissi was born in Karlsruhe, Germany, and immigrated to the United States as a toddler. She has lived all over the US, and moved to the Washington, DC area in the 1970’s. She attended the University of Virginia as an undergraduate. In 1988 she received her doctorate of Medicine from the Medical College of Virginia. She completed her internship at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, and her residency at Fairfax Family Practice Center, a Medical College of Virginia residency Program.
Dr. Moghissi regularly
teaches medical students from George Washington University Medical School,
and other medical schools. She is board certified in Family Practice,
and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Northern
Virginia Medical Society.
After being in group
practice in Northern Virginia for eleven years, she opened a solo practice
six years ago. She feels that with a solo practice she is better
able to serve her patients in a personalized manner.
On a personal level,
Dr. Moghissi has lived in Vienna since 1988, is married, and has 2 children
in local Vienna schools. She is active in the Vienna Tysons Regional
Chamber of Commerce, and other local community organizations. She
plays classical piano, does needlework, knits, quilts, and is interested
in almost everything.
Misty Tax, FNP-C has joined our practice as a family nurse practitioner. She is a recent graduate from Marymount University’s nurse practitioner program. Her nursing career spans 18 years and includes a BSN from University of South Florida and a Master’s degree from George Mason University as a clinical specialist. Misty has worked in the intensive care unit at the hospital as well as in home health, skilled rehab facilities and as clinical faculty at George Mason and Marymount Universities.
Misty had clinical experience as a nurse practitioner in this office for adult population, at Georgetown pediatric clinic and with Kaiser for Ob/Gyn. She is certified to treat patients of all ages.
Misty lives in Falls Church with her husband and 2 teenage children. She is an avid runner and plays co-ed soccer.
She is an active member in Sigma Theta Tau, nursing honor society, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners.
