Vibraderm is the latest technology used to improve appearance of skin. The effect is similar to microdermabrasion, but is much more comfortable, with less downtime and redness after treatment. Instead of blasting crystals at the skin and then vacuuming them back up, a special (mildly) abrasive paddle shaped hand piece vibrates to exfoliate and stimulate the skin. Most people feel they are having a massage. Another advantage of the paddle is that any part of the body can be treated, including the neck, back, shoulders and legs. Vibraderm removes the top layer of dead and damaged tissue, smoothing out imperfections and leaving the skin feeling and looking healthier and more radiant. When used regularly, there is also evidence that it produces new collagen, reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Compared to microdermabrasion, there is less irritation, redness and downtime. It can be used on larger surface areas, not just on the face. It is being used to treat:
The Vibraderm also has an infusion paddle, and we can infuse lotion or even medication during the treatment. The treatment lasts 15-30 minutes for the face, and most people leave with some mild redness, which resolves within an hour or two. It is generally not necessary to plan any down time after this procedure. Vibraderm can be used in conjunction with the OmniLight, Obagi, and other cosmetic modalities. In fact, they are mutually beneficial. When used alone, we usually recommend weekly treatments for 5 sessions, then once every 4-6 weeks for maintenance. The paddles are single patient use only, meaning you buy your own paddles and bring them in for each treatment. Therefore there are no hygiene issues. Vibradermabrasion is a quick, pleasant treatment that will improve the appearance of your skin. The treatments essentially have no risk or downtime, and can be done almost anywhere on the body – where ever it is needed. For more information visit www.vibraderm.com.
