Dr. Jasmine Moghissi was born in Karlsruhe, Germany, and immigrated to the United States as a toddler. She has lived all over the US, and moved to the Washington, DC area in the 1970’s. She attended the University of Virginia as an undergraduate. In 1988 she received her Doctorate of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. She completed her internship at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, and her residency at Fairfax Family Practice Center, a VCU School of Medicine Residency Program.

After being in group practice in Northern Virginia for many years, she opened her solo practice in 2002. She felt that in a small practice she would be better able to serve her patients in a personalized manner. She elected to join Privia Medical Group in 2014 to allow her to continue to offer her patients the advantages of a small practice while having the advantage of a larger infrastructure.
On a personal level, Dr. Moghissi has lived in Vienna since 1988, is married, and has two adult children and a grandchild. She plays viola in the Reston Community Orchestra along with many local chamber groups, classical piano, knits, does various fiber arts and is interested in almost everything.
